Parliamentary committee recommends raising age limit for entry to government jobs


In last June, the parliamentary committee at its 29th meeting recommended increasing the age limit for entering government services to 35 years in the face of students’ demand. Protesters claim that many would be forced to remain unemployed or start begging if the age limit is not raised. On Dec 19, 2011, the government raised the retirement age limit for the public servants to 59 from 57 years. Government job aspirants then demanded increasing the age limit for entry to public services.
