It was, however, gathered that Chief Ojougboh might have accepted the decision of the party to feature Ogboru as the APC governorship candidate amid the myriad protestations. Again, less tension greeted the PDP Senatorial primaries across the three districts. Emeka Ihedioha emerged as the governorship candidate of the party in the primary election held in the state. For Benue North-East senatorial district, the battle will, therefore, be between Suswam, a PDP candidate, Gemade, who is an SDP candidate and Mrs Orubibi, the APC senatorial candidate. Utazi was the sole candidate for the party for the 2019 senatorial election with 1,065 yes votes.
