AHMEDABAD: Patidar and Dalit agitations in Gujarat have claimed their first casualty in Anandiben Patel. The government hasn't done much to address their concerns," said a senior Bharatiya Kisan Sangh leader from Saurashtra, a hotbed of Patel and Dalit agitations. Expressing convergence of interests with the Dalit movement, Vasoya added: "Across Saurashtra we have stood by them and even shut down our business in solidarity. Many Dalits work as farm labourers, but the agri sector in Gujarat is facing crisis for the past two years," he added. To raise the pitch of their protest movement, Dalits are holding Ahmedabad-Una 'march for freedom'.
