In his first event of the 2016-17 season, Patrick Chan skated his way to second-place finish at the ISU Challenger Series Finlandia Trophy in Espoo, Finland, on Sunday. The Toronto skater finished the men's competition with 248.73 points while first place went to American Nathan Chen with a score of 256.44. "I had a great start to my free skate which really showed how well my training's been going,'' said Chan. The Finlandia Trophy was not only Chan's first competition of the season, but his first official event under his new coaching team made up of Marina Zoueva, Oleg Epstein, and Johnny Johns. The Finlandia Trophy is one of the first events of the skating season and considered a warm-up for the ISU Grand Prix season.
