In the flat where he grew up in the Parisian suburb of Roissy-en-Brie, Paul Pogba shared a bed with his two brothers and two cousins. His world was small and he dreamt of a life that was big. Before he was 26 he had cost the earth, conquered the globe, occupied ten thousand billboards and ten million heads. He lived as he played: expansively, audaciously, like a child let loose in a grand house, eager to explore every space. I wrote about Pogba before the European Championship of 2021.
