Solskjaer is currently the interim manager of the Old Trafford side, having taken over from Jose Mourinho back in December. And Scholes, who played for the Manchester club between 1993 and 2013, believes Solskjaer should be given the job beyond this season as well. ‘Ole’s come in with a smile on his face, put his arm around the players – there so much talent in that team he’s given them freedom and you’ve seen the results. ‘Ole knows United, he knows what is needed, the way fans want them to play, the way the people want them to play, the way staff want to play.
