The family of a woman who died in a swimming pool on holiday have launched civil proceedings against the husband they believe murdered her. Paula Leeson’s family want to prevent Donald McPherson from benefiting from her death. The judge ruled that the evidence was “not sufficiently strong” to allow them to reach “a proper verdict”. Mr Justice Goose QC said, however, that it was “clearly more likely” that the defendant had killed her than the alternative explanation.
