Construction on runway 05/23 at Toronto Pearson International Airport completed Tuesday, after almost two months of upgrades that disrupted thousands of airline passengers' travel plans and led to noise complaints from neighbourhoods close by.. The runway work, which began on March 28, was a critical infrastructure project required for the safe operation of the airport today and in the future. "Toronto Pearson is proud to be a part of the communities it serves. That led to thousands complaints from neighbourhoods that don't usually contend with noise from jets taking off and landing. The project also led to numerous flight delays that left many airline passengers fuming.
