A man in his 80s who was injured in a collision earlier this month has died, gardaí in Co Clare have said. The man, a pedestrian, was injured following a crash involving a car in the Abbey Street area of Ennis on December 8 at around 1pm. Earlier today, it was announced that a woman in her 80s has died following a five-car crash that occurred in Co Meath on Friday. The crash follows an increase in the number of road fatalities in 2025. According to Garda statistics, 186 people have died on Irish roads this year, 19 more than this time last year.
