Peel police appeal for witnesses after sexual assault at Professor’s Lake in Brampton

Around 9:45 a.m., a 20-year-old Brampton woman was jogging around Professor’s Lake and tripped, falling on the ground of an unpaved trail, when a man dragged her to a nearby wooded area, police said in a news release Thursday. The man grabbed the woman by her waist, picked her up and pushed her against a tree, police said. Investigators said the man would not let go of her despite her attempts to stop him and kicked his leg, but the attack was interrupted by a witness walking by. He then fled towards a recreational centre. Police have described him as Black, in his mid-20s with medium muscular build and roughly 6 ft. tall.
