One person was killed when a car crashed into a commercial building in Newport Beach and burst into flames, authorities said Monday. The crash was reported at 10:55 p.m. Sunday at West Coast Highway and 61st Street, an area with a “dramatic curve,” according to Newport Beach police Sgt. The car was traveling west at the time of the crash, Gregson said. A body was found in the remains of the vehicle, Gregson said. AdvertisementWestbound lanes of the highway were temporarily closed in the area for authorities to investigate the crash.
