People who received the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine have lower antibody levels targeting the coronavirus variant first discovered in India than those against previously circulating strains in the UK, new data suggests. The research also suggests levels of these antibodies are lower with increasing age and that levels fall over time. Lower neutralising antibody levels may still be linked to protection against Covid-19, the experts say. The B117 UK variant remains dominant in Ireland though numbers of the Delta strain are on the rise.
