A total of 89 deaths have been reported so far as the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) and National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF) continues its rescue operations. While 1,15,515.25 hectares of crop areas have been damaged across Assam, 120 animals have lost their lives with the rising water at Kaziranga National Park. After Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal’s meeting with Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat on July 22, the Centre announced that it will release Rs 346 crores, in the first phase, under the Flood Management Program (FMP) scheme to Assam.
