The week began with controversial Bishop Gilbert Juma Deya's acquittal by the court. Kisumu Governor Anyang Nyong’o underwent successful spinal surgery at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital in the county. Azimio supporters held a three-day series of anti-government protests from Wednesday to Friday. Hundreds of protesters were arrested and arraigned in Mombasa, Nairobi and Kisumu for participating in the anti-government protests, among other parts of the country. While this was going on, President William Ruto visited Isiolo, Meru, and Murang'a counties, where he launched several development projects.
