Pilot Escapes with Minor Injuries After Plane Crashes into Hangar Roof

A pilot miraculously escaped with only minor injuries after a single-engine plane crashed nose-first into the roof of a hangar on Monday at a Southern California airport. The Federal Aviation Administration revealed that the pilot of the Cessna 172 was conducting “practicing landings and takeoffs” at the time of the crash. Footage aired by ABC 7 showed the front of the plane embedded in the roof of the hangar, while the tail was pointing straight up. The pilot, who was the sole occupant of the aircraft, had to be extricated from the wreckage and was subsequently taken to the hospital with minor injuries, as reported by the news station. Following the crash, approximately 45 gallons of fuel leaked from the plane, according to the local fire department.
