Daniel Smith, principal of Pimlico Academy in London, whose controversial rules prompted mid mass walk-outs by pupils, has announced that he will resign from May 31. It was claimed the school's uniform policies brought in by the headteacher discriminated against Muslim and black students. Mr Smith also agreed to take down a Union flag from outside the school last month after pupils raised criticism. "We thank Mr Smith for his unwavering commitment during this time which has been very difficult due to the ongoing impact of the pandemic. "Mr Oulton, who is well known to staff and students at the academy, will be working with Mr Smith to ensure a smooth transition in the coming weeks."
