People affected by breast cancer dressed in pink weaved through the streets of downtown Toronto Sunday for the annual event. It was once again an emotional day for the participants — 11,309 of them, raising $2.51 million for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. The 50-year-old was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2006 and had to undergo chemotherapy and a mastectomy. A decade later, she proudly wore a pink survivor’s shirt, one of the many that crossed the finish line on King’s College Rd. “People talk about breast cancer survivors, but really, I like to call us breast cancer thrivers,” said Gray.
