After a missed opportunity by SSC-R, Mclaude Guadana split his free throws that gave Lyceum an 81-79 advantage with 14.1 seconds to play. Fouled by Desoyo, Enoch Valdez made 1-of-2 free throws to put the Pirates up with a three-point cushion, 82-79, with 9.2 seconds to go. They are half-game behind College of St. Benilde (6-1), which is playing San Beda University (5-2) at presstime. Guadana also scored 14 points for the Pirates, while John Barba added 11 points.
