The owners of a former Marlow bakery have said work is underway to bring the building back into use. Burgers Artisan Bakery opened on the town’s High Street in 1942 during the Second World War, when Eric and Marie Burger moved to Marlow and opened their Continental Confectioners. The bakery was best known for its cakes, breads, pastries and hand-crafted chocolates, and was one of Marlow’s most recognisable businesses. In a statement, the company said: “We are excited to be progressing plans to bring this important Marlow property back to life. “We recognise how keen local residents are to see the building returned to active use, and we share that ambition.
