The play focuses on a fictional encounter between aristocrat Lady Ottoline Morrell and suffragist Dame Millicent Fawcett at Gower Street in Bloomsbury in 1917. Across the Square comes to Laxfield Village HallNon plays Lady Ottoline while EastEnders actress Francesca Anderson takes on the role of Dame Millicent. Non said: "On a cold December day 1917, Lady Ottoline Morrell has crossed Bedford Square to call on Millicent Fawcett to express her condolences for the loss of a beloved sister. Accomplishments included co-founding Newnham College, Cambridge, her role as President of the National Union of Women's Suffrage Societies for 22 years and publishing three books.
