The Pokémon GO Battle League will be our first opportunity to battle trainers online without any sort of friendship requirement: launch seems to be delayed a little bit, but it’s still coming soon. The battle league promised to be one of the most elaborate additions to the game yet, with ranking and reward systems with Stardust, Pokémon encounters and more. Battle League will not be only a “sitting down” activity, because it will still require you to walk 5km if you want to unlock five battles for free. There will be both premium and regular tracks, with Premium Raid Passes turning into Premium Battle Passes in a likely bid to address the massive stacks of the things that some players have accumulated over time. Preseason for the Great League will run from now untile February 10 before rotating into the Ultra and Master Leagues.
