Adelani Adepegba, AbujaOperatives of the Federal Capital Territory Police Command have foiled a bank robbery in Mpape, a few metres from Maitama, Abuja. The police gunned down a suspect and arrested four others inside a branch of First Bank Plc a few minutes ago. Our correspondent gathered that the robbers were trapped in the banking hall for many hours following the arrival of the police who surrounded the building. Eyewitnesses said when the robbers refused to surrender or come out of the bank, the police operatives stormed the hall, killing one of the gang members in the process. He stated, “It is a foiled bank robbery; We stopped the robbers from raiding the bank.
