The Kano State Police Command has arrested a suspected notorious thug, Auwalu Ali, popularly known as Auwalu Dan Daba, over his alleged involvement in organised thuggery and violent attacks on residents of the state. The disclosure was contained in a statement issued on Tuesday by the Kano Police Public Relations Officer, Abdullahi Kiyawa, on behalf of the Commissioner of Police. “In a decisive operation based on credible intelligence, police officers attached to Dorayi Division apprehended a notorious thug, Auwalu Ali, popularly known as ‘Auwalu Dan Daba’, who has been coordinating and organising thuggery groups to attack and rob innocent citizens,” the statement said. “The victim was rushed to Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital, Kano, where a police officer selflessly donated blood, thereby saving her life,” the statement said. Commending the conduct of the officers, the Commissioner of Police in the state, Ibrahim Bakori, praised their professionalism and sacrifice.
