New Zealand police have accidentally Tasered officers and Glock pistols, rifle parts and Tasers have been lost, or stolen from court exhibits. Since 1997, when police introduced a database for missing police firearms, there have been nine incidents of guns being lost or stolen. In 2013, during an arrest, one officer was accidentally Tasered by another officer. Scahill said more than 75 per cent of unintentional Taser discharges happened during non-operational settings.
