Police identify dead man found north of AucklandNZ POLICE Police hope the dead man's shoes might help people to identify him. Police used a distinctive pair of sneakers to identify a dead man found in a park in Mangawhai, north of Auckland. Emergency services were called to the Mangawhai Domain, near Wellsford, at 7.30am on Thursday after a member of the public discovered the body. "The man was wearing distinctive red, white and black high-top shoes." Police said they had now identified the man and were in the process of advising his next of kin.
