The suspects, 28-year-old Godfred Acquah and 34-year-old Awudu Usman, were first taken into custody around 8:30 a.m. on February 24, 2026, along the Agona Asafo–Kwesitwukwaa road. Police arrest 20 suspected drug peddlers in pre-dawn Ashaiman operationPolice recovered 154 slabs of the suspected substance from a taxi with registration number GR 2932-26 in which the men were travelling. A follow-up search at Usman’s home in Asisim, a suburb of Agona Swedru, uncovered an additional 55 slabs, bringing the total seizure to 209. The Central Regional Police Command further stated that the suspects allegedly offered GH₵100,000 to the officers to avoid prosecution, but the bribe was refused.
