After completing her WASSCE examinations and leaving the school, Osmanu contacted Hanson on December 28, 2025, requesting the return of the device. Hanson later received an audio message in which threats were directed at him by a woman identifying herself as Osmanu’s mother, Daayimatu Abdallah. Upon returning from the Christmas break, Hanson reported the threatening message to the Achimota Police Station. Concerned about the authenticity of the messages, Hanson petitioned the Cybercrime Unit of the CID and voluntarily submitted his mobile device for forensic examination. According to the police investigative report issued on March 11, 2026, the analysis found no WhatsApp communication between Hanson and the MTN number attributed to Osmanu.
