Police saves fruit seller from deranged man in Penang - Nation

GEORGE TOWN: A 46-year-old fruit stall worker was slashed in the neck by a man who had gone amok at the Lorong Kulit flea market here on Sunday (Dec 30) morning. A policeman had to shoot the man in the leg, after he attacked the worker with a machete at about 7am. George Town OCPD Asst Comm Che Zaimani Che Awang said a scuffle broke out between the victim and the suspect, and the owner quickly alerted the police. “The suspect did not heed repeated warnings to put down the weapon, forcing my man to shoot him in the leg,” he said. ACP Che Zaimani said both the men were rushed to the Penang Hospital for treatment.
