Police may be looking to move CCTV monitoring across Thames Valley to a central hub – though concerns were raised over the potential loss of local knowledge in Windsor and Maidenhead. Upgrades to the CCTV system come as a result of local authorities no longer wishing to upkeep CCTV. Officers can access footage from across the force area rather than having to go to a control room several towns away. However, Windsor and Maidenhead leader Councillor Simon Werner had some concerns which he raised at the Thames Valley Police and Crime Panel on November 3. Buckinghamshire Council has already decided not to join the Thames Valley CCTV Partnership at this time.
