Police have taken former minister Latif Siddique and several others into custody following unrest at a Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) event. Several people surrounded Latif when he came to join a programme arranged by an organisation called Mancha 71 on Thursday morning. While taking Latif away, Sub-Inspector Rashed from Shahbagh Police Station said: “We have no alternative but to remove them from the area. Latif Siddique Sir came. Around noon, Latif and several others were taken away by police van by a team led by ADC Asad.
