Police use news video and photo without permission


The i-Cable News condemned police for using its video in yesterday’s press briefing without permission, police seek forgiveness. In yesterday’s press briefing about the arrest of 16 people in relation to the July 21 Yuen Long assault and July 6 protest, police played a video made by i-Cable News and showed a photo from RTHK in the briefing without its permission. The i-Cable News and RTHK sent a letters yesterday to the police public relations to seek an explanation. Police replied i-Cable News that they did not seek permission because they were in a rush when preparing the press briefing, and hope i-Cable News will understand that their arrangement is due to public interest. The video used shows an i-Cable News report on July 22, where a riot police officer was seen putting his hand on a white-clad man near Nam Bin Wai in Yuen Long.
