Photo courtesy of the Ministry of EnvironmentToday’s air quality index reached 125 this morning, with PM2.5 hourly concentrations reaching up to 40.2 micrograms per cubic meter in the Yunnan-Chiayi-Tainan region. The poor air quality was caused by local pollution under poor dispersion conditions and overseas pollutants from China's coastal areas, it said. General air quality is set to improve from Friday as the southwesterly winds strengthen, it said.
