In the women's singles event, eighth seed Pornpawee lost to Chen Yufei of China 21-23, 11-21 in the last eight on Friday. Pornpawee was the last Thai player in the women's singles event after Supanida Katethong lost to another Chinese player Wang Zhiyi 19-21, 18-21 on Thursday.
