A postmortem is due to be carried out on Tuesday on the body of a three-month-old baby girl who was attacked and killed by a dog in her home in the small village of Clashmore, Co Waterford. Mia O’Connell was in a bed in the terraced house when the dog went upstairs at around 2am on Monday and attacked her. The incident is being investigated by gardaí in Dungarvan who are appealing for anyone with information to contact them. ‘Terrible tragedy’Fr Milo Guiry of Ardmore, whose parish encompasses the village of Clashmore, said what had unfolded was a “terrible tragedy”.
