Power lines and pieces of debris littered the QEW near Stoney Creek Thursday morning, after a crash involving a car and a transport truck, police say. Kerry Schmidt of the OPP said a transport truck lost control, went into a ditch and took out several power lines, which ended up dangling across a nearby service road. Police say a transport truck lost control in the crash, and took out several hydro poles. Schmidt tweeted around 8 a.m. Thursday that charges are pending on the driver of the car, while the transport truck was being recovered from a nearby service road. The QEW was closed between Fruitland and Centennial for most of the morning, but was expected to reopen shortly, Schmidt said.
