ST. JOHN’S, N.L.—Travel to Newfoundland by air and sea was being disrupted today after a powerful winter storm dumped more than 20 centimetres of snow in parts of the province. Marine Atlantic cancelled its lunchtime sailings, while cancellations were also stacking up at the St. John’s International Airport. St. John’s International airport reported receiving 23 cm of snow, while Gander got 24 cm and Deer Lake about 18 cm. St. John’s Battery is shown in this file photo after a 2013 storm hit the province. Bus services in St. John’s delayed the start of their runs, and Memorial University and the provincial government closed for the morning.
