The deceased are Laki Begum, 22, wife of Al Amin of the same area, and their daughter Alifa, 4. Confirming the matter to Dhaka Tribune, Tangail Sadar Model police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mir Mosharraf Hossain said: “The motive behind the murder is still unclear. Police suspect that the miscreants took advantage of Al Amin’s absence to kill his 7-months pregnant wife and their child, and loot the home. The bodies have been sent to Tangail General Hospital for autopsy, and a case has been filed with the Sadar Model police station regarding the incident, the policeman added.
