Pregnant women and mothers with small children were among residents of Kisumu who woke up early yesterday to cast their votes. They thronged the county's polling stations hours before they polling stations were opened at 6am. "I want to ensure I cast my vote early so I can return home and take care of my children as I wait for results," she said. Nyong’o said presiding officers at the polling stations should follow the law, because some still do not understand the election regulations. "We had met at Imperial Hotel, Kisumu, with the county returning officer, where we interpreted the election laws," he said.
