Premier League clubs made payments of £460m to agents over the past year - a 13% increase on the previous 12 months. The Blues partly attribute this year's figure to recording the highest number of player sales in Premier League history. Sunderland's unexpected promotion to the Premier League through the play-offs brought a rise in payments from just £2.2m to £10.6m.
