The President said Madam Sirleaf’s career has spanned a lifetime of extraordinary achievements, many of them as the first female to attain such heights. “The Ellen Johnson Sirleaf Presidential Center for Women and Development is the first of its kind in our history. Starting from the girl child to better educational opportunities right on up to the highest level of society,” Madam Sirleaf said. Also making remarks, Vice President Jewel Howard-Taylor stated that regardless of women marginalization, Madam Sirleaf proved it can be done over and over again. Former President Sirleaf’s Presidential Center was officially launched on the 2020 International Women’s Day.
