President Mahama arrives in Tanzania for African Court’s 20th anniversary

President Mahama landed at Kilimanjaro International Airport on the eve of the ceremony and was received by Tanzania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Ambassador Mahmoud Thabit Kombo. President Mahama is scheduled to attend the ceremony as Guest of Honour on Monday, March 2, 2026, at the Kibo Hall within the Court’s premises in Arusha. The ceremony, themed “20 Years of Service in Protecting Human and Peoples’ Rights in Africa,” will also officially launch the commemoration of the Court’s 20th anniversary. President Mahama’s participation is expected to reinforce Ghana’s longstanding commitment to the rule of law, the promotion of human rights, and the strengthening of African Union institutions. The President was accompanied by senior government officials, including Presidential Advisor Joyce Bawa Mogtari and Legal Advisor to the President, Madam Marietta Brew.
