(Bloomberg) — The Trump administration is growing confident that a trade deal with Canada is moving close, and that a trilateral Nafta agreement will be published before the midnight deadline Sunday, five people familiar with the matter said. Canada’s ambassador to Washington, David MacNaughton, echoed the sentiment early Sunday evening, saying talks are moving forward but not yet completed. Some people familiar with the talks credited Trump senior adviser Jared Kushner for helping smooth the path toward a deal. It wasn’t clear how the announcement on a trade deal Sunday would be rolled out, the people said. The Canadian dollar was rallying on anticipation of a deal, strengthening 0.5 percent, while the Mexican peso gained abut 0.2 percent.
