Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday (January 1, 2026) extended New Year greetings and prayed for peace and happiness in society. “Praying for peace and happiness in our society,” the Prime Minister said. Radhakrishnan said on X, “may the year ahead bring peace, good health, happiness, and prosperity to all, and strengthen our collective resolve to build a stronger and developed India. He also called on President Droupadi Murmu at the Rashtrapati Bhavan and offered her his New Year greetings. Ms. Murmu too extended New Year wishes through an X post.
