President Weah Signs into Law Act Amending the National Fisheries and Aquaculture Authority Law to the Fisheries and Aquaculture Management and DevelopmentMrs. Emma Glasco, Managing Director of National Fisheries and Aquaculture AuthorityMonrovia – President George Weah has signed into law an Act amending the National Fisheries and Aquaculture Authority Law to the Fisheries and Aquaculture Management and Development. President Weah appended his signature to the legal instrument November 26, 2019 following its passage by the 54th National Legislature sitting in its Second Session. The amendment of the Act provides effective managerial and operational leverages to the national entity to appropriately execute its functions. According to a NaFAA press release, prior to this arrangement, the Legislature under the Weah led government signed unto the economic partnership agreement, which is the framework for implementing the REX. This is the first time that Liberia fish and fish products will be exported to the EU market, which is consider a gateway for other Liberian products to hit the EU market.
