The price of chickens in some wet markets in Metro Manila has decreased amid the bird flu outbreak that struck San Luis, Pampanga. At Balintawak market in Quezon City, the price of chicken has gone down to P 120 per kilo on Monday. Prior to the bird flu scare, the tag price for this poultry product ranged from P 140 to P 150 per kilo. The Department of Health has stressed that bird flu virus is not transmitted to humans. So far, no human has contracted the bird flu virus.
