Charles, 72, then embarked on an impromptu walkabout to greet some of the hundreds of people who gathered on the seafront, giving several a covid safe elbow-bump as he stopped to speak to local people. He viewed the sites of development projects and also met with local community groups. It comes as Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton ready to return to the University of St Andrews, 20 years after they first met there. Together they will visit Edinburgh and Fife, in addition to embarking on their first official joint trip to Orkney.
