Digital media is seeing today's young people develop a passion and capacity for civic involvement that is without parallel in human history. What we cannot do, however, is pretend that the impact of digital technology is all positive or, indeed, even understood. 'How can I keep my daughter off social media if all of her friends are on it?' The Royal Foundation brought together the leading players in digital and social media, the ISPs, academic researchers, and children's charities. We can be optimistic about the way digital media will help our children when we can be frank about our concerns.
