This year was the 30th edition of the Miami Yacht Show and Collins Avenue was duly packed with over a mile’s worth of gleaming, white yachts. It’s a partnership that CEO Antony Sheriff was thinking about soon after he joined Princess in 2016, partly thanks to his former McLaren colleague, Martin Whitmarsh. The innovation involved in dreaming up and creating such a new class of boat is clearly an exciting factor for Princess. “We are doing a small, fast yacht because it’s cool,” admits Sheriff. “We are now sitting on a US$1bn order book,” says Sheriff, “so this year will be the most profitable in the history of the company.” A lightning fast boat seems like the perfect way to celebrate.
