According to officials, the new bus terminus that is to be named after the late Tamil Nadu CM Kalaignar M Karunanidhi can accommodate 226 mofussil buses. Last month, he conducted a field inspection to select the required area for the idle parking of private buses. The minister had alleged that during the previous AIADMK government’s tenure, the bus terminus was designed without considering the traffic of buses coming to the terminal.
