Project Lifesaver is a program which helps families locate loved ones with cognitive conditions who are liable to wander. has been operating the Project Lifesaver program — which boasts a 100 per cent success rate in finding individuals who elope from a safe setting — in the Greater Victoria area, in partnership with the We Rage We Weep Alzheimers Foundation. “Most of the (Project Lifesaver volunteers) have been touched either directly or indirectly by someone with a cognitive disorder that is at risk for life-threatening wandering behaviour,” Redden said.
